This project was facilitated via Web Impact UW, a student organization that connects students to website projects free for local businesses. My role in this project was technical project lead, where I managed coding members and designed website architecture. I also served as a point of contact for the project client, making sure that their needs were addressed and reflected in the website produced.

Management was one of the more enjoyable parts of the role. This involved setting up meetings with 5 other members to discuss the trajectory of the project. In addition, I also prepared relevant teaching material for these meetings. This was to make sure that everyone understood the basic knowledge for their role because each person had different technical backgrounds.

Website structure was also an integral part of my role. This mainly consisted of adding in crucial integratations for the website to function. Specifically, I helped to make sure that our EmailJS and Google Sheets API integrations worked properly for the client. I also helped to develop the Mailchimp integration and merch shopping cart features.

While most of my work involved backend features, I also got the chance to implement some of the website designs. A few weeks into the project timeline, one of our members quit the team. This gave me the opportunity to work on the contact page. In addition, I helped to support all our project members with any issues they faced, such as styling issues and component layouts.

All in all, this was a fun and fulfilling project where I met other awesome developers and got to work across the project stack.
